My son has gone to village green elementary for several years. He likes it, my husband and I do also. No complaints. He has gone since kindergarten, he is now if 4th. No complaints here!

First month was great then the principle seemed to be illusive to everything going on in the special needs department. Special needs department needs major work. I was relieved of the e-learning due to we were at a point that my little was coming home with unexplained marks on him. They will push your kid through and only truly focus on easy teachable and sports related. When brought to superintendent, they praised these actions. One person show and you have no say so, even if thier staff are being hit because they fail to provide properly for special needs in all aspects

Disappointing. We had high hopes for our kids at this school, but it hasn’t been a good experience overall.

This school lacks communication skills. Teachers, councilors and administrators are unresponsive. I withdrew my youngest child and am teaching her with the assistance of a homeschool program. They recently notified me they will not allow my oldest child attend next semester due to inadequate progress. Apparently they don't want to help her excel. I requested assistance at the beginning of the school year when my child began to struggle. I was told we had to wait until the semester ended. The semester ended without any assistance. They recently notified me my child isn't welcome to finish the school year. Welcome to Bay City Central High School. Now leave. There wasn't any behavior issues. The only issue was learning. My child has a learning disability. I requested a meeting to make a 504 plan. I don't think they know what one is. I have been in education for 20 years. I graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelors degree in education. I am deeply saddened by the integrity of this school system.

I love the school but the uniforms are not so exciting when you get there. You don’t want to focus on that so just go with your flow but I think we should be able to wear hats that are plain during winter or beanies because it’s cold and some stuff in the review is based off what I have seen but I am going to stay positive

The principal cares about the students and is always available to help and come a long side the teachers and parents to help. The teachers we’ve had so far are great with the kids and have been so flexible and hard working through distance learning and all that the last few years have brought! So thankful for all the staff at this school and that my kids get to attend here.

I rate a one star. As a concerned parent I feel it's important to let people know that Tatev Tiffany Darbinian is not professional. She kept asking for money and wanted to charge for reports constantly she would surprise me with large bills and demand money in cash. I do not recommend and will find someone more experienced and not a crook like her.

This school is like no other. They are prepared academically and have many opportunities for their students. Wouldn’t have chosen another school for my child.

An absolute gem! Love all the teachers and the approach to learning ! Very cutting edge. Kids are learning to be adaptable and how to learn and work with others. Collaboration is the way of the future!

No one reaches out to parents when children are struggling, no response when you ask questions about tardies or absences. Amazing that two years in teacher will not email me, a parent if my child is failing but will reach out when they think he is on his phone too much. Teachers will also allow children to go to other classes than the class they should actually be in. Not impressed with this school at all.

Don’t trust other websites like Niche about Serra reviews. They are deleting all honest reviews about how bad the principals, teachers, and students are. Serra is also the only “private school” accepting SO MANY new students in the middle of the school year. All good schools in the area are closed for the year and are not accepting enrollment. Serra, on the other hand, couldn’t cap their enrollment because they owed so much money due to the new building, chapel. The classrooms are like a zoo, and they keep letting anyone in without screening. Like what the other review said, it’s infiltrated by rude, unmotivated students and bad, apathetic teachers just waiting for paychecks. They don’t provide quality curriculum, programs, etc., anymore. Serra will welcome you because they need your money to pay their debt, not because they care about your child. Stay away, or you will waste the formative years of your child.

This school claims to be anti-bullying, however when I attended this school I know of a few instances where extreme bullying was ignored. Issues had been brought up to the principle himself, and still nothing was done claiming that it 'happened out of school hours' even though the time stamps showed a different story. Even the in person bullying was largely ignored by the principle and the guidance councilor. Norwayne has some of the most amazing teachers I have ever met, and there are some good college credit classes to take. The bullying issue however, outweighs all the great things about this school. It's hard for students to learn and feel safe in an environment that claims to be supportive, but when it comes down to it they don't have any support at all.

This is my son's second year at New Discovery, and he LOVES it. It's a play-based school, and the teachers have been excellent at encouraging creativity and imagination with so many fun learning opportunities. You can expect your child to get in the mud and rain, playing outside and learning through play. The teachers also use the Second Step curriculum for social & emotional development, and I've seen my child grow, becoming more confident and learning his emotions and how to express himself in an acceptable way. They offer movement, dance, and art to augment their curriculum, and my son looks forward to school almost every day. I wish NDS continued on through elementary school. My son will be so sad when he has to leave for kindergarten.
